Product and lighting
We love when the product is displayed clearly and attractively. To ensure you showcase the product in its best light, follow these tips:
1. Shoot your images in bright, well-lit areas.
2. Avoid overexposure: the “magic hour” for photography is the last hour before sunset and the first hour after sunrise. If that timing doesn’t work, shooting in the shade usually results in better photos than full sunlight.
3. When indoors, avoid using flash or artificial lighting.
Background Settings
We love simple backgrounds that allow the products (and those adorable faces) to shine.
We often prefer urban settings like streets, doors, walls, and interiors over less polished settings with a lot of dirt or grass. Authentic settings are also encouraged, such as the dog park you usually visit, the beaches you take your pup to, or even indoor settings like dog training sessions or visiting a friend's place. Please use your best judgment to protect people's privacy, such as avoiding pictures that show street addresses.
Authentic interaction
We love seeing you with your pups and capturing those special emotional connections. It’s extra special to see the emotional connection. We also have special holidays where we specifically look for photos featuring pawrents and their pups, like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day, and more.
We understand that not everyone feels comfortable in front of the camera, so if that’s not your preference, feel free to disregard this request—it’s just a nice-to-have!
